I have a running date with my young neice after school and she enjoys doing crafty type things. We have all of the usual beading sets, loom bands etc but when I saw this I thought it was something a little different and unusual.It has been quite a bit cooler lately too so it is good to have some indoors activity for her.I like that on the side of the box too it gives her all of the colour combinations to mix the paints together to create wother colours so it gets her brain thinking too and is teaching her whilst she is having fun. Lovely that afterwards she has something she can display on her shelves in her bedroom.This would make a lovely gift for someone.

Our youngest daughter is a keen home crafter - as well as being crazy about unicorns... so I thought this set would be ideal for us to test together with her. The set arrives in an impressive, colourful, glossy-printed box which contains everything the young crafter will need. The set includes various paints, brushes, glitters and mixing palettes, plus a large, fold-out, map base scene. There are five different styles of unicorn models to paint, plus four other scenic decorations. Our daughter had some trouble getting the water-based paints to adhere properly to the models at first.... they seemed to still have traces of a greasy release agent on them. However, after we washed the models in warm soapy water for her, the paint adhered well and better progress was made. She loved mixing the paints and adding the different coloured glitters. Other than the problem of the greasy surfaces on the models, it was obvious that some of the figures were just too small for our daughter to hold, manipulate and paint as accurately as she wanted to. The largest unicorn in the set was the ideal size for her... but she found the others (especially the small scenic decorations) too small to paint in detail. This is a useful, educational craft set at a good price-point, which is great fun to work with - provided the child is old enough to be able to handle the smaller models.

Me and my daughter really enjoyed painting our own unicorns, the paint was good quality and covered evenly, they were nice and bright, you get different sizes of models in the pack as well as different sizes of brushes and glitter glue, instructions are clear but not really needed, my child had so much fun using it great value for money.
