Review: Proper preparation=professional finish - I used this product for a project where I wanted to inlay mother of pearl into black walnut, then seal everything up with a clear epoxy. The keys to having this product turn out with a glass finish are proper preparation using exact ratios and good supplies, and using a torch to "burst" any bubbles after the epoxy is poured. The problem is that when you mix the 2 part epoxy, you're going to be forcing a ton of air bubbles to form, and when you pour the solution, the bubbles remain. Quick heat with something like a butane torch will cause the bubbles to expand and burst, then the epoxy to lay flat. You need to apply the right heat from the right distance to pop the existing bubbles, but not cause boiling of any water that may be trapped (in my case in the wood), and need to watch out for scorching as the product becomes more solid. With proper technique, you will get professional results. Do your homework and make sure you have a heat source ready to go ahead of time. Cure time was ~48 hours, graduated mixing cups are highly recommended in my opinion, make sure you get the size appropriate for your project. I'd also recommend using PTFE tape or something similar to reseal these containers for future use after opened.
Review: Awesome Stuff, Easy to use! - We were a little nervous about using this to finish our penny table project because we had never used epoxy before. However, we printed out all the instructions, and followed the directions exactly, and it turned out great! We poured it in our garage so we would have better control over the temperature. We didn't notice any fumes. A couple things to watch out for: 1) Make sure you order enough. We need a second coat on our table; it is 12.5 sq ft with ungrouted pennies, and two quarts wasn't quite enough for a glass-like, smooth finish. I had a feeling that we would be cutting it close, so I had already ordered a second 2 quart kit. If we had grouted the pennies, it probably would have been enough. 2) Make sure your torch has plenty of fuel! Our torch ran out of fuel in the process, and we didn't have time to get another one. So, we do have a few small bubbles, but at least no cloudiness. I am still very happy with it! 3) I'll say it again - follow the directions exactly, especially in regards to temperature. Don't so this if it is not warm enough!! The one thing the company could improve upon is making the instructions online more printer-friendly.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be used outdoors?**
A: All epoxy resins will yellow outdoors in time even with uv protection. Although uv protection helps it does not eliminate yellowing. Most companies claim it will but research companies say otherwise.

**Q: Can you use this for casting projects? For example making knobs for cabinets.**
A: yes I am making water spout with it

**Q: can youdye it and use it for wood inlays**
A: I went on their website countertopepoxy.com and got their phone # talked to their customer service and ordered my colors. I didn't use it on a wood inlay but it looks like you can do that.

**Q: Can you use this over poly u? Or is stained wood the better method?**
A: Should not use over poly finishes or stains. Water based stains seem to be ok. Wood should should be free from any kind of oil contamination. I have used as float coat over hatch cover tables.I first sand blast the wood then burn the wood and brush off burned area to desired color. Always have good results with this proceedure. ( hatch covers have a lot of oil contamination )

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Product, Loved the Results
*by K***C on June 19, 2014*

We were tired of the countertops in our kitchen and couldn't afford granite, so decided to try epoxy. First I covered the tile with water resistant hi-density fiber board. For being my first epoxy job, the results turned out better than I had hoped for. So I decided to try doing the same over the ugly 1970s tile in my shower, and will be posting again when the results are in on that project. This epoxy went on really clear, leveled nicely, and didn't have any problems with yellowing or bubbles, like I'd heard about with some other brands of epoxy. I did use all that I mixed right away, which may make a difference. If I could I would post pictures. I found the seller to be very helpful easy to get a hold of. A+ Follow-up: Ended up doing the upstairs shower, first running MDF backing beyond the original tile all the way to the ceiling. My favorite aspect of this system in the shower is being able to have seamless walls and counters with continuous natural stone patterns. Every time you take a shower, it makes you feel like you're standing under a waterfall at the bottom of a southwestern slot canyon. Eventually I did the downstairs bathroom as well. Maybe later I'll install a skylight in the upstairs bath, to complete the canyon experience. For bigger jobs I'd recommend the FxPoxy 2 gallon kit.
