**Q: metal or plastic engine?**
A: Only the Engine is metal- the rest of the set, including the wheels, is plastic.

**Q: Will this product fit O-gauge tracks?**
A: It comes with the lionel fast-track.  You can run on o-gauge track.  You can buy transition track if you need to merge the two tracks.  This or any other TMCC style train requires power to be constantly "on"  throughout the track set.  And either the hand controller or bluetooth device controls the engine.   So you can not run a "conventional engine" with a tmcc or lionchief engine at the same time since the power is "constantly on" when using this engine control.  Make sense ?

**Q: Can you be used outdoors?**
A: Yes, as a matter of fact I can be used outdoors. I was actually outdoors just a moment ago.
This train, on the other hand, isn't made to be kept outdoors. You could set it up and use it outside for a while as long as the weather was nice, but it shouldn't be left outside. Since it isn't waterproof, or even water-resistant, any moisture would ruin the electronic components.
I'm nut sure if you were asking me or the train, so I answered for both to be safe. If you were asking the train, then what I'm about to say will probably disappoint you........The Polar Express by Lionel isn't capable of answering you. It is an electronic toy which isn't capable of hearing, thinking, or talking. Sorry to break it to you. I'll give you a moment while you let that sink in. Go ahead, take all the time you need.

**Q: What is the difference between this and the 5.0 Bluetooth set? They both have Bluetooth and the descriptions are the same**
A: Yes,  5.0 has more options including the ability to record your own messages to the train from your Bluetooth device. The 5.0 is also all electric with hand held control that requires 3 AAA Batts or a0ai mentioned the use of Bluetooth.

My husband and I purchased this train for our son’s birthday. He had been wanting it for a while. He had been rather respectful and patient about it because it is not cheap. When he finally opened it up on his birthday, he was ecstatic. Checking out the train, it looks and works great. The listing says that you can use bluetooth to control it with your smartphone but that doesn’t seem like an option available for our version? I have seen older videos of people reviewing this train and having issues with the back railing falling off the last train car. They have apparently fixed that issue as ours was pretty sturdy. The engine is obviously heavy and everything was pretty straight forward for setup so it didn’t take him long to set it up and start playing with it. We were a little sad because the version we got didn’t have the hitchhiking hobo that comes out of the top of one of the train cars. The train comes with a few figures which are great. Our youngest loved playing with them and discovered that there are small holes in the doorways for them to stand in and so on. Unfortunately, the figures usually get stuck in the doorways if they shift while the train is running. The train did come on time and quickly after ai ordered it and was in great condition. The outer box had a few dings and holes, but the inside box and the box for the train itself were not damaged at all. Aside from the lack of bluetooth and the hitchhiking hobo, this was an excellent purchase.
