The quality and look of the leather is a little dubious and the metal eyelets, at least around the sides, frequently come out. I have had this happen 5 or 6 time so far and have owned the shoes less than a year. I have been able to repair it it few times but, have actually had to remove 3 of them already that were too bent or damaged to repair. It was while trying to repair on of these loose eyelets that I noticed the real problem with the design...the laces! Heaven help you if you should ever break your shoelace because you cannot simply replace the top lace as with a normal shoe. The lace on this shoe is one loooong string! Meaning that the lace you see on top and where you tie the shoe is also the same string that runs around the sides and back of the shoe! So, should you ever find it necessary to replace your shoe string, you will not only have to find the right length of shoestring to buy but, you will also have to figure out how to thread the string through the side and back holes as well (without popping out the eyelets) since it is the same string that runs all the way around the shoe. Who's bright idea was that? I have owned this type of shoe before and the lace that wraps around the shoe has always been a separate, decorative type of lace and permanent, not part of the main top lace. I will be looking elsewhere for my next shoe of this style. ### ⭐⭐ Trashed in less than a month *by J***. on Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2015* Update: not even a month wearing these and they're falling apart.Nicer looking on than the photos would suggest. I walked on wet and slippery surfaces with ease while wearing these. They're a modern update of the classic I've worn since prep school. Light and ultra comfortable, they offer the comfort of court shoes but should pass muster for office casual. The fit is perfect after wearing them a few times. For the price I snagged them at, I may well buy another pair to put back. Well made, look great, and extremely comfortable...like wearing bedroom slippers. Had been wearing Sperry Topsiders, but I like these much better, and they cost considerably less. Especially like the "all dark brown" color scheme...think it looks much better than the "dark and light" combination in the Sperry's. Dressy enough for going out, but perfectly appropriate for casual wear.
