Thankyou for your help.** A: Yes they are, as long as you purchase the bait or in fact any poison bait you can just keep refilling them with poison and putting them back out there. The beauty of the bait that comes with and is designed for this box is that it is fixed on the bar inside the box and a rat cannot bring a piece of it out of the box and leave it lying about for another animal to eat. The bait is cheap enough, the box is solid plastic and will probably last for many years. **Q: Could squirrels get into the box?** A: It is unlikely that a squirrel would get access to this box; the plastic is thick and the catch would be difficult to force. However, I have placed 2 of these boxes down and I wedge them in with a brick on the side away from the wall and another brick on top. The squirrels would have to move the brick first before having a go at the box! Obviously a very small squirrel might squeeze inside but I don’t think they like feeding in dark tunnels like a rat does. Squirrels generally eat In the open by holding food in their paws and gnawing it. **Q: How big is entrance as I have pet dwalf rabbits would they be able to fit** A: The entrance is approx 51mm wide x 56mm high. **Q: we have rats digging holes in the garden . But we also have 2 elderly cats . Is this stuff a good idea ?? We are desperate** A: Normally the rats eat the poison and go off and die, but... if the cats get them they could be affected by the poison residue in the dead rats. Boxes work great and you can get a new bait type that is supposedly harmless to other animals, do some research before using.
