Be careful when cutting as it does get a bit messy, but nothing major. Make sure you order enough for your board though. I ended up buying more and paying more postage when I should have measured better in the first place!

**Q: What is the backing fir these mats and how flexible are they**
A: It's like a waxed paper backing. About as flexible as coated waxed paper. I don't think you could mould it smoothly over a lumpy surface.
