The leads are a perfect replacement for the ones on the original equipment Weber igniter. **Q: What keeps the outside of the wires from melting or burning off?** A: Not sure what kind of grill your putting this on but mine has a separate tray that handles the three nobs for the burner and the igniter switch I have a Weber Genesis about 10 years old the wire never touches anything that would make wires to melt **Q: Will this work with a Weber Performance grill?** A: When I replace my unit, I first took it out and compared it to the picture on the Internet.
