Correct Oil - Sewing machine oil which is refined Mineral Oil or even better Triflow Silicone Lube (oil) on all the non gear parts. Triflow will not harm plastics but Mineral or Sewing oil will harm them. Correct grease for Gears is this pure Silicone with PTFE (Teflon). Teflon adds a silkiness to the grease. Use this only on the motor shaft wicks, soak the felt pad with it and the felt wick sticking out. As the motor turns and generates heat, the Vaseline mix melts and leaches out on the motor shaft, slowly lubricating it. You don't want too much oil near electrical things so this was devised.
