Review: Satisfied Customer - This is incredibly cost-effective. The quality is also one of the best I've worked with. It expands a lot once hydrated and goes a long way compared to the size of the brick. It does retain moisture really well, which is great for keeping plants from drying out too quickly. That said, it can get too compact after watering, especially when used by itself. If you are using it for seed starting, make sure you add something to improve aeration, such as perlite or another chunky material. Good airflow is important for healthy roots. It's a very versatile growing medium, and I have used it for indoor plants, seed trays, and some outdoor containers without having any issues. It has a pleasant smell, and I haven't found any foreign particles, plastic, or other unwanted material in these bricks. Overall, this has been a reliable coco coir option and a great value for the amount you get.
Review: Great growing medium - I’ve purchased the same brand Coco Bliss before but not the 10lb blocks. This seemed to be a better quality. Once hydrated the medium was light and fluffy. Will be purchasing again.

## Features

- Pre-Rinsed & Pre-Screened Coco Coir - Every block of our coconut fiber substrate has been screened multiple times through an extremely small filter to get rid of any traces of fiber, sand, and rocks. This is what sets our coco coir apart, giving you pure and clean coco coir for plants, unlike others who don’t filter their coco coir for impurities.
- Natural Soil Amendment for Plants - Coconut fiber is a 100% organic and renewable soil amendment that works as a growing medium for succulents, herb planters, seedlings, vegetables, flowers, indoor house plants, indoor gardens, and more. Simply expand and mix with plant soil or organic potting soil for indoor plants or outdoor plants.
- Excellent Moisture Retention - After expanding in water, coconut coir bricks can be broken up and used as seed starter soil in gardening pots, garden containers, and garden terraces. Coco fiber absorbs and retains moisture, ensuring your plants stay hydrated. Its high cation exchange capacity (CEC) and neutral pH greatly improve nutrient uptake.
- Improves Soil Structure & Aeration - Coco coir blocks promote soil aeration and drainage, creating air pockets that prevent soil compaction and allow oxygen to reach plant roots more efficiently. As coco fiber breaks down, it adds organic matter to planting soil, improving overall soil fertility in potting mixes and seed starting mixes.
- Sustainable Growing Medium - Compressed coco coir for plants is made from renewable coconut husks that would otherwise be thrown away. Unlike peat moss, coco coir is 100% natural and doesn’t contribute to the destruction of natural wetlands, making Coco Bliss an environmentally sustainable choice for your growing needs!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How many cubic feet does one block make?**
A: One block can make 2.25 cubic feet fully expanded.

**Q: How many 3 gal pots w/ ratio 40% soil, 20% org compost, approx 30% coco, 10% vermiculite/white pellets can I fill? Or your ratios/pots totals. Thanks**
A: After hydration I get about 14 gallons of coco

**Q: Can this be used to grow sunflower sprouts which usually require soil planting?**
A: Absolutely. Coco is a great medium. For sproys, specifically, Id make a custom blend, using mostly coco coir more than chips. //Chips are best [my use] is to expand into big fibre chunks, by ecpanding w/ compost tea, LAB, EM1, & enzymes containing cellulase.. & a few days & you can smash the big chips a few times with a hammer.. let the microbes work at the 'glue" of the structure for a couple weeks at most- & you'll have some Awesom fibrous coco chunks creating natural drainage & aeration, without taki g up volu e thst resticts root growth like expanded rock like pumice/,perlite ,/ volcanic rock- Far beyond coco aline, though they mix Great-, or even w/ perlite/pumice.. for My aeration, I prefer big coco fibres + buckwheat hulls, perlite + pumice, small amt of small/fine vermiculite, biochar.. <- in order of higher to lower %age.
That would be mixed with High quality fresh soil, my own used soil, multiple compost/humus sources, such as my own compost plus mushroom compost & worm castings. Thats for larger bigger cash crops.

Microgreens?
You can Start out like this
%50 coco, %10 peat moss, %5 biochar, %5 rice/buckwheat/seed hulls %10 fine perlite/pumice/LavaRock, %5 Sand /+ rock dust, %5 vermiculite, %10-15 living humus/compost/castings..
Use that at a 50/50 plus extra %10 humus & dry nutrients to recompost & recycle.
A small amount of natural compost, or even a soilless mix adding some.
If extra nutrients are needed- is a compost tea.

**Q: Would this be a good medium to grow watercress in?**
A: It's great for soil less application and can hold a lot of water. I raise worms in it and use it as seed starter medium. So, I can imagine it could grow watercress as well.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great growing medium
*by R***S on 9 July 2026*

I’ve purchased the same brand Coco Bliss before but not the 10lb blocks. This seemed to be a better quality. Once hydrated the medium was light and fluffy. Will be purchasing again.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great stuff and no stickers
*by A***R on 5 June 2026*

Coco Bliss is wonderful! No stickers like mulch has. It is dry so it carries more easily. As you soak it it loosens and crumbles easily. I wish it was a little cheaper but that is minor in my book.
