In fact I purchased extra touchscreen stylus tips. If it has a metal tip I’m not sure the tip is replaceable. **Q: Is the stylus removable?** A: The stylus on the Rotring 800+ Mechanical Pencil can be removed. Also, the pencil is available in a style without the stylus, the Rotring 800 Mechanical Pencil. **Q: Is this pencil made in Japan or Germany?** A: Designed in Germany. Assembled in Japan. Right on the box. **Q: Received pencil that doesn't fully retract or extend unless I apply excess force, is this a normal problem that others have experienced?** A: Assuming you're referring to requiring excessive force to turn the collar at the top of the pencil to extend or retract the pencil lead channel, that would not be normal and seems to indicate something is either misaligned or binding the mechanism that extends/retracts the channel. I would suggest this is a defective pencil. ## Frequently Bought Together - rOtring 800+ Mechanical Pencil and Touchscreen Stylus, 0.7 mm, Black - rOtring 0.7mm 2B Super Polymer Pencil Lead - Pack of 3 Tubes - 72 Leads in Total - Refills for Mechanical Pencils - Rotring 1892340 Eraser Refill - Eraser Refills (White) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/6438679-800-mechanical-pencil-and-touchscreen-stylus-twist-to-retract-hb](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/6438679-800-mechanical-pencil-and-touchscreen-stylus-twist-to-retract-hb) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-11-01*
