Review: Great retro portable system at a great price - Great handheld at a great price point. It can even emulate some modern systems with the correct configuration. Me and my kid love it so far. Sadly, the games included in the SD card are not the best ones, but if you're into retro gaming, you should be able to set it up in your liking. The sticks are kinda hit or miss, but they do the job. Also, the screen is pure gold. That AMOLED screen makes every game pop up and it's very bright, so outdoor gaming is a possibility. Great purchase overall.
Review: Jack of all trades, beautiful screen and enough 'umph' for most retro games - Disclaimer: I own a handful or more different portable systems as well as nearly countless devices that Games can be played on. What we have here is a 'jack of all trades'. With the fairly large number of emulators included this device can run just about any dated/retro game. The Android13 & playstore allows owners to install and play Android games and with the inclusion of Steam and/or Moonshine, the owner can Stream PC games to this device! While not the most powerful (or expensive) HORIZONTAL 'retro' system available, the T820+8GB RAM provides enough 'umph' to run most PS2 games tossed at it, the 5G WiFi allows speedy streaming from other devices and the bright OLED screen looks awesome while playing. IMHO: The device size is "just right", not to big/small nor to heavy for extended game play sessions. The included buttons/menu system is simple and easy to use. Just note that if you wish to replace or install a larger SD card, it helps if you format the card in THIS DEVICE before adding to it (via another device). Ergonomics fit the hands well, good button/stick placement and contours of the case fit well. Frankly, while I tend to like the classic vertical 'Gameboy' like form factor better than horizontal ones, this is a bit larger than a 3DS but smaller & lighter than a Switch or Ally. I'd rather play on this over the latter two devices. Ok enough of the 'good' here's the not-so-good: while the RG556 is a decent system, the developers did not bother to set the DEFAULT control scheme on each emulator to the physical buttons+sticks on the device itself. Thus forcing the user to dive into the settings to get rid of 'on screen' controls (only useful for systems that DON'T have physical buttons or analog sticks!!) Also (and THIS goes with ANY 'retro' device) knowing what button does what can be very frustrating!! I usually open a game, look to its in game settings along with a "push and see" discovery of which buttons do what. Worth noting is that while games can "run", they may not of been natively very "smooth" to begin with. Many 'retro' games/systems and entire series had rather 'clunky' controls back in the day. Not really an issue with the RG556 or other retro systems. While outside of the games my RG556 came with I've mostly tossed at it 'dual stick' games as the GBA and lessor systems can easily be emulated on weaker and less expensive devices. :)

### ⭐ ARRIVED WITHOUT THE ACTUAL GAMES MEMORY CARD
*by L***N on October 10, 2024*

I was so looking forward to receiving my games console. A friend started helping me set it all up, only to discover the most crucial component was missing from the delivery - the memory card containing all the games! I requested the memory card get sent to me and was told it can't come as a separate piece and I therefore had to return the entire console and am too nervous to order a new one in case the same issue happens again. Can't feedback on the actual device sadly but of the overall experience.
