Do not use Zaditor drops to treat irritation caused by contact lenses. Remove contact lenses before you use Zaditor drops; soft contact lenses may be placed back in the eyes 10 minutes after use of Zaditor drops if your eyes are not red." **Q: Are these eye drops drying to your eyes? I have severe dry eyes and allergies but want to make sure they are drying.** A: This was recommended to me by my allergist. I, too, have severe allergies and diagnosed dry eye. I prove this wrong and ended up with two purple plums hanging under my lower eyelids. These drops recommended for allergic reactions to dilation drops along with cold compresses, so I gave them a try. They relieved the itchiness and soreness almost immediately, but after 72 hours of use under the eyelids still swollen. Hoping it will go down in time, better than using a steroid. One drop every eight hours in each eye.
