It's heavyweight, waterproof, and pretty comfortable considering it's built like a tank. The zippers are very high quality. Every bit of this jacket is very high quality. I was surprised when I received it just how heavy it was. Assuming I keep my wheels on the road, this will last for years - and if I don't, it's a small price to pay for the protection it provides. The shoulders, back, and elbows have good protection. You have the option to upgrade the pads to increase protection, but since I'm on an e-bike that won't exceed 30 MPH, I think the protection it provides is more than sufficient. The fabric alone provides a great deal of protection. I would size up. I would normally take a large, but it was too small once I put the pads in. I exchanged it for an XL and it fits perfectly, especially since it has Velcro straps at the waist that allow you to sinch it tighter around that area and prevent any wind from getting in. This jacket really is a tremendous value and great quality. I can't recommend it enough. I do wish they had the matching pants. You CAN get matching pants (with a different brand name, but obviously the same manufacturer) through other sites - you know the ones that take a couple of weeks to get an order. I do wish they had them her under this brand name.
