Bought this heat mat for my Royal Python, as his other type of heat mats were rubbish in that the plastic covering always ended up peeling off. This heat mat is fully enclosed in some type of material that is easy to clean and encases the cable at the join. Can highly recommend this heat mat and will replace my Corn snakes current heat mat with this one, when it eventually needs replacing.
