The fittings are of decent quality along with the heavy hoses. Valve knobs all are metal open close smoothly. The only thing I did not like there was no resistance when turning at all and made me think sealing at the stem would leak but all seemed ok. The hose end valves were heavy metal having resistance of a tight seal on the stems. The hoses were flexible but solid, I could not squeeze the hose to flatten at all. The plastic case holds everything while it’s not assembled but it will not accommodate a fully assembled with hoses device where you have to disassemble to store in the case. Even if you remove the foam cutouts you still can’t store it assembled, not big deal to hang it assembled but it can collect dust but don’t count on storing it assembled in the case. It worked just fine. The only problem I had with it was getting the leftover amount in the second can to seal and not bleed out once I removed the hose. I took the protective vent cap off the yellow hose manifold air vent and screwed it on with some teflon tape on the thread to seal and it appears to be holding. JB **Q: Does the 134a can tap work for self-sealing cans or just piercing-style cans?** A: NO! Despite the vendor's claim, the tap supplied is for old-style piercing cans only. It does NOT work with self-sealing cans, only with piercing style. Yes I fully understand how it works - for this cam-locking adapter you have to partially unscrew the cam plate, fasten the cam to the can, screw the adapter in so it contacts the can top, un-attach the cam, screw the adapter maybe 1/2 turn further into the cam plate to make sure it will seal, re-attach the cam plate to the can, then screw the valve in. It would not operate the self-sealing can. Don't bother with the cheap $3 blue plastic can-top adapters, either. My closest parts store had a brass adapter from "sure-built" (Made in China, ~$7) that did work. Plan on spending that extra $7. ALSO plan on another $10 to replace the hose end gaskets with 1/4" Hose Gaskets e.g. https://www.amazon.com/Yellow-Jacket-Quick-Coupler-Gaskets/dp/B00E549YWW/ -these hoses come loose if you just look at them the wrong way. I HOPE the new gaskets will minimize that. Right now I have fluorescent dye leaked al over my compressor, which means I can't tell if there's a leak in the shaft seal until I clean all that shit off, and my compressor is hard to reach. **Q: Anyone was able to replace the seals on the female connections? They usually go bad quickly... Any particular brand?** A: Yup... replaced them as soon as I saw them. Amazon sells a couple of types-I have used the Green seals and their OK but I like to use the Yellow Jacket black seals. they seem to wear the best. You can also check your locale auto parts store, they should carry one of the name brands. Hope this helps. **Q: what is the trick to making the can tap work with self sealing cans? I could never get any freon to come out.** A: If you follow this and it still does not work-the tap may be defective. 1-Back off both the tap body and the valve. 2-Mount tap on can, and screw tap body down till it contacts the top of the can and tighten 1 turn. This should snug up the can and tap- if not - tighten a 1/2-1full turn more. 3-Now close the valve handle while holding the can and tap body. *NOTICE* Wear gloves and eye protection!
