I ordered the size 39 in the cognac and they were PLENTY WIDE AND LONG. I would be swimming in a size 40 which is what I wear in many Euro shoes. They fit fine and look great. The top and back straps are adjustable. The toe box is very roomy and I would imagine fit a wide foot comfortably. I can wear a thin sock with these as well and still have room by adjusting the straps.UPDATE: I also ordered the PEWTER color in size 39 and they fit much better than the Cognac. The Cognac are longer and there is about a half inch showing beyond my heel. The Pewter pair fits perfectly in the length. I wish I could send the Cognac back. Another poster mentioned the length and how stupid it looks and when she ordered down a size, the strap was then too short. I can see how that would happen and that is exaclty why I kept the Cognac in the 39. I will wear them as they are but I wish they fit like the pewter color. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Alegria disappointed but they made it right *by A***A on Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2017* Alegria Jemma, extremely disappointing. Within 1-2 times of wearing these, the right toe box collapsed in and created a permanent indentation in the front toe area of shoe. I had already worn them so it seems they were no longer returnable but... Alegria has such a great reputation that I was shocked at the poor performance and make of these shoes. Not only is there a cosmetic blemish, but every time I try to wear them I'm reminded that the dent actually rubs against the top of my toes and is quite uncomfortable after a while (as well as unsightly). I work on my feet all day and had heard how great Alegria shoes are but now I'm reluctant to buy the brand again.Update- I decided to contact the company and they were happy to exchange these dented ones for a new pair. No issues with the new shoes. They were right!! Comfortable right out of the box, no break in period at all. The pewter is stunning! A shiny neutral! While not the most fashion-forward, I’ll happily look a little hobbit-like if it means my plantar fasciitis isn’t screaming at the end of the day. I’m fact, I think my feel are healing with wearing these to work everyday. Oh, and I usually wear a 7.5 and the 38 fits perfectly.
