Review: Full speed ahead - Modern laptops usually omit the RJ-45 ethernet connector to decrease case height, so a USB ethernet dongle becomes the preferred (only?) way to connect to a wired network. This adapter provides full-rate wired ethernet connectivity to my M3 MacBook. It has been a reliable performer and done everything I've asked it to do, under MacOS, Linux, and Windows. It's pretty much a no-brainer, with two observations: (1) The adapter gets way hotter than I would have thought. The little metal case, slightly finned to resemble a heat sink, could use some better cooling. Not sure if this will affect the expected life span. (2) For whatever reason, the USB-C connector on this adapter is UNUSUALLY TIGHT, so that it actually takes some strength to attach and remove it from a laptop. This has decreased a bit with repeated use, but it's still worth mentioning. Keeping those details in mind, if you need wired connectivity for a modern laptop, this is a fine purchase.

I do a lot of network troubleshooting and having this is a must! More laptops have removed ethernet ports to make them thinner and thinner. So connecting directly to a switch or router with this to a USB-C port on a laptop or Apple device works well. The cord seems thick and sturdy and can endure. I like the housing which is vented to dissipate any heat. The LED's are nice to see as well to confirm connectivity. Another affordable tool from Acer!
