Since our Basmati Rice undergoes a unique aging process for up to two years, it exhibits a exceptional appearance and memorable experience when consumed on any table.

Review: Excellent Brown Basmati Rice from Pride of India - UPDATE REVIEW of the Pride of India Brown Basmati Rice in the 10lb Packaging. I am highly satisfied with the newest packaging for the 10lb package. It came in a heavy duty plastic/vinyl bag that was vacuum sealed at the top and has a resealable zip to reclose the bag after cutting off the top portion to open. No bugs or contamination. Much better than the tub and jute bags they had used for awhile. Even though resealable I still transferred my rice to my sealable storage containers as it gives me the opportunity to inspect for bugs, smells, etc. But in this case, all is well with the product received. Even with only two of us in the household, we now eat enough of it to make the affordable 10lb bag worth buying. Just received the package on 5/10/26 with a best by date of June 2027. Plenty of time to consume it. We very much liked the Pride of India Brown Basmati rice that we had previously purchased in the pricey 3lb container that we tried our first time out to see if we even liked the brown basmati. Liked it very much, but we needed to move on to a larger quantity to get a more affordable price per pound. I was very hesitant to buy this 5lb bag because of the jute bag that gave me concern of insects and spoilage as noted in some reviews. The new 10# packaging bag is now viable based on description above. Having said all that, we still really like the Pride of India Brown Basmati the best of the 7 brands we have tried and will continue to buy it. We tried and wanted the US sourced rice to be a good option as well as a couple other lower cost options to work, but we kept throwing them away and returning to the Pride of India product as our first choice for taste and texture. We did find 2 other Indian brown Basmati rice brands to our liking, but this is our first choice if available. We don't really mind the cook time required. We cook a cup at a time using chicken broth/stock and it makes more than enough for more than 2 meals for the two of us. Since the second meal is simply a reheat with a short fix time, the 2 meals preparation kind of balance out the effort.

This rice is pricey but this is the first brown rice that I can truly say that I like the taste. I found that if you soak the rice a few hours before cooking and put the correct amount of water then you will have a flavorful tasting rice. This rice did not appear nutty or extremely crunchy. Another helpful suggestion, if you have a rice cooker that has a brown rice feature on it, use it. I know that brown rice is healthier for our bodies so I am happy that I finally found a winner.
