They stay on for several days so it lets the sores heal, but does not irritate the skin. I have used both the spots and the 4 x 4 sheets and I like those better simply because I get more out of the sheets. Hope this helps, linda **Q: looks almost like a white circle under the bandage is this normal?** A: No. The white part is a backing that you should be able to peel back from the actual sticky part of the bandage. The bandage itself is like a sticker. Peel back the white part and then cover the wound. If you cut the bandage down, it may be more difficult to peel off the white backing but once you’ve taken the white backing off, the bandage is semitransparent. These are great bandages for wounds that are hard to heal and the color is fairly translucent. **Q: Can anyone confirm this is an order for 20 bandages?** A: Yes it comes in 20 bandages. I used it on my mom but sadly she passed a while back.
