However the light is angled upward and the glass vase obscures the illumination for reading in my opinion. It is mainly for lighting up the room. However if you can use indirect light or another covering for the lightbulb (rather than the glass flower vase) the actual brightness is very good. **Q: Is this light a touch switch?** A: Yes, this is a touch switch. Any part of the lamp body can be turned on and off by gently touching it.
