It's made of lightweight plastic, but seems pretty stable. It is easy to operate with the single push button on the back. It has 4 fan speeds, and the highest really moves a lot of air. It is not noisy, just makes a low fan noise. Nice that they came in a two pack because I am using both of them in different locations in the house, and I love them.

As I am writing this it is 94°F in my den and I have no ac to cool things down. It's hot! I have a big swamp cooler running (in fan mode only) and that creates a good overall breeze. But what I really needed on these super-hot days was a separate fan that I could just aim at my face from a few feet away. This tiny three-speed TriPole is perfect. I keep it on tray table in front if me any put it on high speed and it creates a nice supplemental breeze. It cools my face and head nicely and takes up no room. Is it a hurricane? No, it's about what you would expect from a 4.5" fan, but it gets the job done and you can't beat the price--I paid just $6.99 ( free shipping with Prime). The fan has a five-foot USB cable and there is no learning or set up involved. Just plug it in, turn it on and enjoy the breeze. You really won't find a better deal and I'm ordering a few more for my computer room and my bedroom. This fan is perfect to cool a router or external drive in your office. And for under $7!
