Is this one quiet?** A: It does make some noise. There is the usual whirring as the internal workings fill the top chamber, and then the rattle as the cubes tumble into the basket. But it is a lot quieter than its predecessor, and also a lot smaller. It is also quite quick, with the first cubes appearing say 15 mins after starting. We really like it. Noise is not an issue for us as it is in the utility room. **Q: Is there an option to keep the machine on so that the ice that’s in there stays frozen but without making more ice?** A: no there isnt, the machine makes ice to fill the ice basket.
