What ingredient is causing this warning?** A: What it means practically is IMO nothing. I live in CA and am careful of what I eat. I have no problem using this product. Is there was actually a serious risk of a dangerous ingredient in this product I think this company would not be selling it. There are 850 items on the states list now. CA requires that warning on almost everything that might have tiny traces of anything that could that could might cause cancer or birth defects. Originally the requirement was well intended but then someone involved made it apply to tiny traces one thousandth the amount that might really be harmful. they now have 850 chemical substances that are on the list. So for years now all kinds of normal things have that label. Christmas light strings, garden hoses, gasoline station pumps, parking garage. --------- Any product that contains a substance on the list of potentially harmful chemicals must carry a warning label if it will be sold in the state of California. Proposition 65 requires that the product label alert customers to a range of potentially toxic chemicals. There is no exact required wording, but the message must clearly communicate the health risks posed by a product. Today, the list has grown to more than 850 chemicals. Then you can easily pull the two pieces apart and pour out the powder. The powder does not taste very good taken alone. You could sample the powder your self, and then decide how much to mix in with your cat food. One capsule per day is for humans. It has from 3 times to 38 times minimum daily requirements of the various ingredients. So IMO each capsule could provide several days of cat food supplement. **Q: Do these have a strong smell? What color is the actual powder? Thank you** A: Yes. But these vitamins are high quality at a very affordable price. I wouldn't let the smell deter you from buying this product.
