## Description

TotalBoat THIXO is a unique thixotropic thickened epoxy adhesive ideal for bonding, gluing, filling, and sealing a wide range of materials. Create structural bonds on wood, metal, fiberglass, brick, stone, glass, tile, concrete and more. Thixo comes in a 185 ml cartrdidge that fits all standard caulking guns. Each cartridge includes 2 special mixing tips that automatically mix resin and hardener to the precise 2:1 ratio as you dispense the epoxy. This means no mess, no hassle trying to correctly (manually) mix resin and hardener parts, and no waste.Thickened formula means its viscosity and consistency are a little bit thicker than the most liquid, runny resins. Thanks to this, Thixo won't sag or run. Apply it to overhead or vertical surfaces. It's easy to lay down a neat, consistent bead epoxy wherever you need it, including tight spaces. Thixo is still thin enough to wet out composite cloth in boat building and repair projects, too. It cures to a hard, translucent surface that may be drilled, filed, tapped, sanded and painted. Ideal application temperatures are 50 to 80 degrees F, with full cure within 24 hours.Working on a large project? Thixo has 50 minute working time at 77 F, with 35 minute gel time. I did not paint as this was for cracks inside a Hyde drift boat, and I didn’t care too much about the appearance. It dries pretty clear, and had a very long work time, 1hr+.

**Q: Will this work to seal rivets on a 19' aluminum boat with 90hp motor ? can't track leaks, want to seal everything below water line**
A: Jim, it will look like hell. Might work but I would use Interlux bottom paint, called Trilux 33 made for metal boats it's expensive, I used it. Sand the boat with 80 gret heavy then use Interlux barrier coat 3 times coat. Re ribbits would take alot of time!

**Q: Can i buy additional static mixers? west system sells a pack of extra mixers for their epoxy tube products. that alone might steer me away from here.**
A: Hello, yes we do sell extra packs of the static mixing tips.  Thank you.

**Q: What is the working time?**
A: I'd say no more than about 7 minutes before it starts getting hardened inside the mixing tip.

**Q: I need to bond a stainless steel plate to fiberglass. Would you suggest Thixo for this application?**
A: No I would not, if the fiberglass is bare and the stainless is shiny clean my choice is 3M 5200 it will not fail even when you want to remove it. 5200 takes a few days to cure depending on the temp and humidity. If you have not used it, it is a bit striny and will get on everything, acetone is a good cleaner for the opps. Put enough 5200 on the surface so there is substansial ooz out on all 4 sides, some weight on the plate would help in the setting up so it won't move on you until it sets.

Easy to use. Managed to fill in several small below waterline screw holes from a transom mounted transducer on my boat. Applied acetone on a rag, got rid of any old 5200 gunk that would interfere with the thickened epoxy, reamed the screwholes, screwed the mixing tip on, laid about a foot of the first mixed epoxy on a cardboard box to prime it, and then began filling the holes. Set in about a day. Great repair. Great product. Came with two tips in case I need to do another hull repair in the future. 10/10 would recommend.
