But it was the old USB which did not support the newer devices (no intelligent charging), the outlets were too close together, and who uses a telephone cable any more? This item advertised compatibility with new devices, and the outlets were better configured. This unit is not as tall and not as wide as the original -- I knew that before I bought it -- but I had a friend create a mounting frame out of skinny 1/4" maple to fit the hole and it looks great. More to the point, the USB outlets work with the Android and Apple devices we have. However, I don't think it does "fast" charging unless you use one of the outlets with a special charger. Still, it works for general device charging, and I am satisfied with the product's features and performance. ### ⭐⭐ Constant Beeping *by R***H on Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2019* I received the charger today, and it’s very pretty, but I decided to test it before cutting a big hole in my table. I plugged my iPad into one USB port, and heard the usual beep sound. Then I plugged my wife’s iPhone into another USB port. It made the beep sound, then my iPad beeped, then the iPhone beeped again, etc. The devices continued to alternate beeping, very annoying. Apparently the current alternates between the USB ports and each device thinks it is being constantly plugged in over and over... I really wanted this to work, but we can’t listen to the devices constantly beep.
