There's 2 steps up into the house. My husband walks with a cane and has a hard time walking up steps. We didn't really want to put a railing up, so this was a good option. He just grabs the handle when he's going up the steps and it makes it easy for him to get up them. It's very sturdy and looks rustic, which fits the decor of our room perfectly. It comes with two heavy duty screws so it feels very secure. So much more affordable than a railing, plus it looks nicer and isn't really taking up any space.. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I purchased these for my dual 70lb barn door setup, it's very sturdy and all solid steel. No chance these will fail later. They're meant for decoration so only have a small screw mounting hole but if you need a really heavy duty handle, you could just drill it out and use it for much heavier duty. The flange is 1/4in plate steel and the handle is 5/8 solid rod and they are welded together--good luck stressing this handle to the breaking point. If you're not looking for extreme heavy duty, they are also quite decorative, just enough style and not over done.
