The first time we used it, it worked great - we set the time, it ticked, and then rang the bell when time was up. The next time, we had to finagle it to get it to tick. The next few times, it would tick, didn't move, and then didn't ring. I missed the cut off day to return this, or else it would have gone back. Since I bought it, I try to make it work, even though it's a pain to set it JUST right to get it to ring.
