There isn’t a full seal. I tried to close it and noticed the plastic enclosure is the same size as the tub. It will never fully seal. Can tell the quality is much better than the set we had from Ikea. The plastic is much more firm and doesn't hold smells and stains from the colouring of food after washing. The different sizes are just right for what we need as we don't tend to keep food in large batches anyway. The lids could be a bit easier to snap into place when storing but other than that, not much complaint.
