The space I treated was 20 by 38 ft. I used a 3/4 inch roller to give the gelcoat surface a slightly rippled surface. The MEK was mixed at 1% (two tsp of MEK per Quart. I just poured the gelcoat onto the deck and used a broom handle to apply the mixture. After applying one quart, I simply went back to my table and made up another quart. I used a plastic 2 qt. paint bucket to mix. I have never done this before and was a bit skittish. I should not have been!! It was so easy and I only used 1 1/2 gallons of the gel coat. The coverage was absolutely amazing!! I applied a second coat to some of the rougher surfaces with no trouble at all. I let the mixture set overnight, but was pretty well hardened in an hour. The result was fantastic. I had to remove a couple of insects from the gel coat, but a quick brush over the surface fixed it just fine. This is a five star gel coat and I had so much fun. I used painter's tape to trim the surface area. Go to you tube and check out the info there. Have fun!! Gelcoat without wax needs to be covered with a thin film like PVA. **Q: Does this come with hardener?** A: Yes it does. **Q: Can you put multiple coats on if you you need to build up an area?** A: You can but, if you use with wax you would have to sand in between every coat. The easiest way to do multiple coats is to use the no wax gelcoat and do your build up, then your last coat use the gelcoat with wax. This way you don't need to sand every coat. **Q: I'm looking to refinish a cultured marble counter-top. Is this a hard surfaced coating that will hold up in a sink?** A: I would doubt that this would hold up in a sink application. Try the manufacturer. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This project was so much fun!! *by D***T on March 19, 2019* I have a large houseboat and wanted to gel coat part of my fly deck. Have fun!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good. *by V***G on July 9, 2026* Quality product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gel coat provided good results *by P***O on July 16, 2024* I used this white gel coat with wax to repair deep scratches from dock damage on my 23' sailboat . Per the instructions, the gel coat container was shaken well to ensure wax completely mixed with the epoxy. The gel coat epoxy and hardener were then measured and mixed together per the instructions. I sanded and cleaned the damaged area previously and applied the gel coat using a 1/2 inch water color brush. The bright white finish is smooth, hard, and matches the original hull color very well. ## Frequently Bought Together - White Gelcoat with Wax - Pint with 15cc Hardener (MEKP) - Fiberglass Supply Depot Black Gelcoat with Wax Pint with 15cc Hardener (MEKP) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/62376404-white-gelcoat-with-wax-uv-resistant-marine-gelcoat-for-interior](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/62376404-white-gelcoat-with-wax-uv-resistant-marine-gelcoat-for-interior) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
