This Fujifilm Prescale 4"x2.5" sample, sold by Sensor Products Inc., is a unique pressure indicating film that reveals both pressure distribution and pressure magnitude between any two contacting or impacting surfaces. Fujifilm Prescale is a thin sensor film that instantaneously and permanently captures a pressure profile "snapshot" by virtue of its "changing color." Conceptually similar to Litmus paper, the color Fujifilm Prescale turns is directly proportional to the amount of force applied. The pressure range for this specific product is 28 to 85 PSI (2 to 6 kg/cm²) and the dimensions are 4" by 2.5". We have other ranges and full-length rolls in stock. This sample is one-time use and cannot be returned.Prescale is a unique pressure indicating sensor film that illuminates what is occurring between any two mating, contacting, or impacting surfaces.Simply place the paper-thin pressure indicating film between your two surfaces, whether in your product, process, or R&D environment and the film instantaneously and permanently changes color to capture a “snapshot” in time of the maximum compressive load that has occurred between the two surfaces and the magnitude of that pressure (in PSI or Kg/cm^2).The pressure film immediately develops to a shade of magenta whose intensity is tightly correlated to a precise level of pressure (in PSI or Kg/cm^2).Conceptually similar to Litmus paper, the color intensity (ie pressure magnitude) that the film captured when under compressive load can readily be translated into a precise pressure level (in PSI or kg/cm^2) by visually comparing the pressure film to a color correlation chart that is included with the purchase).Additionally finer interpretation may be resolved by using an optical scanner product that digitally analyzes the pressure indicating film.

We need to put enough pressure for correct time to allow the adhesive to set. Prior to finding the film, we had no reliable way to check. This film worked perfect for the application. We are placing 115 pounds of pressure on the mirror glass from our press. That is translates to 45 pounds in the finished assembly as the force is absorbed by the pad. I just ordered another 4 sets of film. This is a solution that makes our process stable and verifiable. And - there is no software or any other references needed. The color chart worked and we could easily see the reading through the hue of the pink trace. Well worth the money for the ability to validate our process.

I had been emailing the vendor directly, but they repeatedly asked the same questions and ignored my responses - might as well have been a poorly trained chat bot.

We need to put enough pressure for correct time to allow the adhesive to set. Prior to finding the film, we had no reliable way to check. This film worked perfect for the application.
