Most of them sounded good and the biggest differences are features and cosmetics. I was initially interested in this one because of how it matches up with my DMP-A6. I like that it can be turned on and off by the A6. It is part of my system for my desk. It is plenty of power for my use. I am running it with usually Tidal Direct on the A6 or optical from my Roku into the A6. Then to Chord Qutest DAC, to the RebelAmp as my preamp/headphone amp. That lets me us a single device for volume control. I've been using it for the last 3 months and have been nothing but happy with it. It is my first good Class D amp. I had most recently been running a 45-watt Burson Funk amp which is class AB. I A/B'd them and was not able to hear any difference that I could swear wasn't psycho-acoustic. In the end, it came down to the form factor and how it fit into my system. I still kept the Burson and moved it into another desk system that I have. Review: AMP-F2 needs more body - Amp fits in nice with the DMP-A6 form factor. My issue was with driving 4 ohm speakers. The F2 did not have the bones to drive them in STD mode. Not sure how things would have sounded in bridged since that is 2X the cost. Fell back to some old Outlaw Audio mono blocks and they sound amazing. This amp uses a module (the Stark NS600) that provides 140W with 8 Ohm loudspeakers at 1% distortion. This is not clear from the product details. It only provides 280W with a 4 Ohm loudspeaker. The industry standard is to state the amp wattage with 8 Ohm loudspeakers since most loudspeakers are 8 Ohm. 2. In published measurements of this amp, it does not have an accurate frequency response. With 8 Ohm loudspeakers it significantly exaggerates the high frequencies. With 4 Ohm loudspeakers, it does the opposite, significantly lowering the high frequencies. This is quite poor. Modern amplifiers in this price range (such as an Ncore or Purifi Class D amp that costs the same as this one) will have a perfectly flat frequency response. In addition, these modern amp designs will provide more than 200W into an 8 Ohm loudspeaker. This amp would clearly sound inferior in a direct comparison to an amp that has an accurate frequency response.
