I have on that I added a sheet of cardboard for some rigidity, but I like how the rest conform to the next compartment easily. **Q: How stiff are the bottoms of each shelf?** A: They are not rigid. Everything is made of the same thin and flexible fabric but the design keeps the structure relatively stable. The advantage is that in this way it can be made more compact by putting it in the suitcase and more things can fit inside. I’m staying with friends for a month, and they do not have a closet or dresser in their guest room. I’m planning to use a couple of over-the-door hooks to hang this over the door so that I don’t have to open and close my suitcase all the time. It comes with two built in hooks, but they are rounded and would not allow the door to close on their own.The zippers on the bottom three compartments meet in the middle, and the bottom compartment is divided down the middle. The top compartment opens from the top and zips all the way around. The material feels strong enough to hold my clothing, but I probably will not hang anything else from this (i.e. toiletry bag) even though there are a couple of loops on the sides.Figuring out how to fold my clothing to where I could see all my options took some trial and error, but it holds a lot. I fit: 6 pairs of pants, 8 t-shirts, 2 long sleeve button up shirts, 3 bike shorts, 2 pajama pants, 3 maxi dresses, 4 bras, 5 sports bras, 11 pairs of underwear, and 13 pairs of socks.Based on how much fit in the medium, I imagine that a small could easily hold enough clothing for a week. I think a large would be too big for one person if you have access to laundry every couple of weeks. This would be a practical organization solution for summer camps etc. where there are a bunch of bunk beds in a room with little floor/closet space. I also bought the landry bag attachment, so it keeps everything nice and tidy.It's also really sturdy. I thought I had packed way too much and one of the hook straps popped off. When I picked it up I was SURE that I was going to find a torn strap, rendering the whole thing useless. NOPE. The snap came undone when I pushed too much on my heavy load of clothes, and all I had to do was re-snap it back in place. So cool.I also love the compartment zippers - they designed it with two zippers on each compartment that meet in the middle. You can't accidentally open the whole thing and have a massive spill-out of clothes.
