Since it is lighter, you won't get hit as hard as the real thing, but also, you won't feel the momentum that you would with a real, wooden three sectional staff. I recommend this for people who are casually interested about learning this kind of weapon, but get a real wooden one and a professional teacher if you are serious. Good quality.
