## Description

desertcart.com: TREATLIFE WiFi Presence Sensor 1 Pack, 24G mmWave Radar Smart Motion Sensor Wired, Support Alexa/Google Home, Real-time Human Occupancy Sensor, No Hub Required : Electronics

Review: Great Presence Sensor - Some notes from my experience: 1. Very easy setup. 2. No connection issues, unlike every Matter sensor I have tried. From my experience, Matter devices routinely go offline and can be difficult to get back online again. 3. Very responsive, and you get some settings to customize, though I have had no need for that. When used to control room lights, the lights come on almost the moment you enter the room. With the Matter sensors I've tried, you can be to the middle of the room before the lights come on. 4. This is a true presence sensor. 5. You do not need the Treatlife app. This device is powered by Tuya and works just fine with the SmartLife app. The Treatlife app offers no functionality that SmartLife does not. 6. Has been working flawlessly for me. And the price is lower than the Matter sensors. What's not to like?
Review: Don't work - I tried one of these and it did not indicate presence. So I returned it to desertcart and they sent me a replacement and it behaves exactly the same. I contacted the manufacturer and they said they would forward the problem to the engineers and get back to me. That was two days ago and I haven't heard a word. Apparently I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what. It indicates presence when you first power it on or if you unplug it and plug it back in. It executes the Alexa routine so I know all the connectivity is correct. It just doesn't do a thing when I walk in front of it. Follow up: they sent me an email asking for a bunch of numbers and crap, I told him a phone call would be fine we could solve it over the phone, but I never got a call. So I'm returning this one on the next one I ordered back to desertcart. I did order a motion detector from the same company and it works fine right out of the box. I have two routines, one of those movement to turn the light on in the room, the other there's no movement to turn it off. They both work fine and they run about a minute apart. It will also send you a text so if I'm out of town I will turn that on.

## Features

- WiFi Connected, No Hub Required: The mmWave presence sensor operates seamlessly without a gateway, relying solely on a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection. Compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, but doesn't support SmartThings and IFTTT. With a wired design ensuring stable power, it operates on 5V 1A USB power, eliminating the hassle of frequent battery changes. The communication range reaches about 263ft without obstacles
- Ultra-High Precision Detection with More Privacy: Utilizing millimeter-wave radar technology, our human presence sensor accurately detects various movements, micro-movements, and stationary states. This ensures that lights won't unexpectedly go out during stationary activities like reading or toileting, without the need for a camera monitoring system, preserving user privacy
- Advanced Sensing and Instant Alert: The 24GHz mmWave Radar smart sensor excels at detecting subtle movements, offering higher accuracy than PIR (not a presence sensor). It promptly sends alerts to your smartphone upon detecting unusual motion, enabling you to conveniently review 30-day activity logs through the app, regardless of your location
- Customized Whole Home Automation: Utilize this motion sensor indoor as a motion-activated wall switch to automate various routine tasks by configuring "IF" conditions and corresponding "THEN" actions. For example, Reading Mode adjusts brightness, Child Monitoring Mode activates surveillance for safety, Energy Saving Mode minimizes consumption during the day. The seamless collaboration of these modes delivers users a precise and personalized smart home experience
- Flexible Installation and Extensive Detection Range: The wifi presence sensor features a magnetic base that allows for 45° folding and 360° rotating, allowing you to mount it on the wall or ceiling with a maximum detection range of 20ft. Avoid installing it near swinging plants, moving metals, or fluttering curtains to prevent false detections. Note that the human sensor is not waterproof or moisture-proof, so ensure it’s installed in a dry area for long-term durability

### ⭐ Don't work

I tried one of these and it did not indicate presence. So I returned it to Amazon and they sent me a replacement and it behaves exactly the same. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works Well, Needs One Software Adjustment
*by D***K on March 15, 2024*

Update 3/19/24 Treatlife quickly responded to my support request about the ability to silence Presence notifications and added it to the app. I upgraded my review to 5 stars. Original Review Installing the Presence Sensor through the Smart Life app was simple and quick. Connected to my WiFi with ease. It works well and is sensitive enough for my applications. I would give it 5 stars if the firmware was adjusted to allow suppression of the Presence alert each time presence is detected. Since this is a new addition for Treatlife, I hope they can make this adjustment soon. I have many otherTreatlife switches and plugs which work very well. I use the Presence Sensor to turn on/off the room lights through Alexa. It was very easy to link Smart Life account to Alexa. I don't require the presence alert in this scene.
