I get an error in device manager that says to contact supplier** A: The messed up part is with a little help from Google there is a work around for the PL-2303A chipset with Win 11. AFAIK there is absolutely no reason why Win 11 would work with this chipset. Prolific must have supplied the pseudo driver (the one that lists the error) to Microsoft for use w/ Win 11. Planned obsolescence, BS! I would boycott any product with a Prolific chipset just to put it to them as they try to rip-off consumers. If you already have one, the procedure requires you to delete the nonsense the junk Prolific supplied Microsoft for Win 11 and load the Win 10 driver. I have tried and tested this and it works. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT FOR WINDOWS 11 SYSTEMS, native driver will not work and none will be officially available as Prolific has EOL this product in 2019. **Q: Does this operate at rs232 levels or does it only convert to 5v logic levels?** A: This cable is rs232 signal level. Amazon does sell a similar cable (same chip set) that supports ttl level signal. Prolific & FTDI (this one is Prolific) *by S***. on September 16, 2019* This is a well made cable but unfortunately I was unaware there are two common chipsets used for these cables. Prolific & FDTI. I am trying to get around buying a $120 cable from a specialty device company and their drivers are for the FDTI chipset. Going to try a FDTI chipset. The only other thing I would say is that windows 10 64 bit does not seem to play well with the prolific chipset.
