Are these sugar free?** A: no it is not sugar free, I think no extra sugar added. **Q: What is the shelf life of dried figs, these in particular?** A: According to Google, dried figs usually last around a year and come with a “best by” date from 6 months to a year after purchase. My Yupik figs came with a date about 9 months from when I purchased them but I store all my dried fruit, nuts, and seeds in the freezer to increase the shelf life. The worst that will happen in the freezer over time IF YOU STORE THEM RIGHT is that they will dry out. The bag these figs come in is thick enough to keep freezer smells out and simply needs all the air removed before freezing or putting back into the freezer after a few are removed. (I just fold the bag over to get the excess air out.) Today, I got 3 figs out to test them. The first one was “drier” than I wanted it to be but I was impatient and hadn’t let it completely thaw, so I defrosted the other two in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds. They came out hot, sticky, and puffed up as if they hadn’t been dried at all. I can not recommend this method. Be patient and let them thaw on their own! If they’re dry, do as I have done with other dried fruits and pour a small amount of boiling water over them. Let them sit until the water is cool. Pour the water off, drain on a paper towel, and your dried fruit is good as new.
