The caps snap in place easily enough. I tried several while testing two centrifuges and they held up nicely. They seem as well made as other PCR tubes I've handled. I can't speak to whether the price is good relative to some standard, but I can say that there's a lot of them (which is good, because they tend to get used up quickly). Mine came in a pack roughly the size of a tissue box.
