Works perfectly for fully charging Seiko Kinetic watches
I have a Seiko Kinetic watch I wear a lot and am able to keep it running well but I wanted to add other watches more often into my rotation so wanted a way to keep the Kinetic running when wearing it less often. This winder seemed to be the answer and is extremely inexpensive so I decided to give it a try. This works great. While the assembly was not the best (installing the bearings gave me a feeling I could have easily broken it when putting it together) it works properly and is very easy to use. I like the swing speed choices and the ease at which I can select the winding time up to 12 hours. I was able to fully charge the watch in one day and even decided to let it go another two days to ensure it was charged fully. I then let the watch sit on my desk until it ran down completely and it ran for 11 months which is way longer than the 6 months Seiko says it should. So the winder worked and worked well. One warning - I got the version with the long swing arm and that does not work well with a much heavier watch like an Omega Planet Ocean chronograph as the winder does not have a heavy enough base to keep it from tipping over from the watch weight. So, if you have a very heavy watch, you may want the version with the shorter swing arm to keep it from swinging itself over.

Works great after careful assembly
Great little device, really quite fun and functional. However, know the parts are plastic (easily broken) and require careful assembly using enclosed instructions. I recommend using a little vaseline or whatever to aid in assemling tight fitting plastic parts. You could also warm the plastic in hot water but this tends to cause some expansion--not sure it would benefit some parts. As long as great care is taken with assembly it is not particularly complicated. It goes together quickly once started but you may have to ponder the illustrations a bit before jumping right in. Otherwise, great bargain for what is essentially a perpetually winding/swinging sort of functional novelty work of miniature tech art. It makes very little noise but there is a faint or muffled clock-like tick each time the pendulum swings verticle, where the magnet passes just over the electrified base. Nothing that would prevent me from sleeping even located on a bedside table...and I'm a light sleeper. But I also normally wear earplugs which eliminate the sound completely for me. I say, buy with confidence if your like me with enough patience to assemble carefully. Very well designed though naturally somewhat fragile given mostly plastic parts. The bushings or bearings are metal, work smoothly, and are pressure fitted.

Not for all watches
Bought this as a gift for my husband, but unfortunately it does not work on his watch. The product moves and seems to function accordingly but does not keep his watch from dying.

I like a lot and would recommend, it does the job it was meant for.
I like them a lot. I like the swinging motion, a little hypnotic. Even the slight hum of the motion is also pleasant, not loud at all. I did hear noise, and it freaked me out thinking, I was hearing something, I was not, and then I remember I had these set up and the slight hum. It's cool, not irritating or anything, just forgot about the device's going. Both units are working as described and winding the kinetic and Seiko style mechanisms. They do need a little room for the device to swing, I have two set up one behind the other and takes up less overall width. The watch holders have strong springs, little concerned about how much pressure it is putting on the links may need to figure out a different way to hang the watches to decrease the tension somehow. I have a few with leather bands and the tension is surely going to stretch them out, I can tell already. I may use Velcro. Quality is plastic and the fit is tight when putting together, going slow and steady works best. Don't force parts you could break. The instructions are limited but explain the functions. The start button is directly in the swing area and can't be used while in use, frustrating to turn it off manually because you have to catch the swing in order to shut the machine off. Poor design, not a dealbreaker, just frustrating when starting. It is cheap plastic, so treat it accordingly. The black color is neutral and reminds me of tiny oil rigs because of the design. The button does require a 2 or 3 second hold to turn on or advance the timer. They stand about 10–12 inches tall, a width swing of roughly 8-10"s. The cord is short and may not reach standard wall plugs from the top of a dresser. Cord is maybe 2 feet and USB A connection. Slight sway, but barely noticeable. Not a dealbreaker again. I would buy again and recommend. They are cheap. So a good value if they don't last. If I get more than a year out of them, I would be happy with that. Pretty sure that shouldn't be an issue, the base is light but seems well constructed for plastic. The magnet is decent for the swing, They don't sync up like a pendulum or timer might, they just kind of swing at their own pace. It seems to work, my watches are charged up, I'll test to see how long they last. Ok I have used a few days and the tension on the watch bands is just too great, I can see the pins bent slightly on the watch band, this was my concern and after a day, and it did show some pressure on the band, I had to modify and take apart and cut the springs in half on one side. It brings the tension down to the point that my watches hold on just barely, taking most of the tension off the bands. The watch sits loop-sided when starting but works perfectly otherwise. There is no real way to get around this, with this design. Too tight, they need different design to hold the watches better maybe ratcheting or something different, small wrist, not even sure you will be able to get watch on holder. The tension is just too great. White, silver, gold, or other colors would be cool too. Production wise I figure it would be pretty easy, even multicolor version mixing colors. the opportunity is there for those in need. I would buy again and recommend.

Inexpensive but a couple of drawbacks
I liked the concept. Turn a little magnetically driven perpetual motion machine like you see in novelty shops into a watch wider. Assembly was easy though you really had to pay sharp attention to the diagrams and pictures. Worked fine with the 5V Amazon AC adapter that I had on hand. Put the watch on it and off it went. Stability was fine and overall looks and feels like a sturdy little device. The downside was that I did not find mine to be all that quiet. Without power it swings silently. But once under power it does have a very noticeable tic-tok sound like that of an old style pendulum clock. Some may find the sound pleasantly rhythmic. I found it quite annoying. Also annoying was the meager 30” power cable. If the cable had been an off the shelf USB on both ends cable one could simply substitute for a longer one. But it has USB only on one end and a power plug on the other. Unless you have a USB extension cable on hand, you are a little limited as to where you can locate it to do its watch winding.

Works to keep a Ventura Sparc MGS charged. This is a electronic digital watch which does not take batteries; but has a rotor like a mechanical automatic watch to keep it charged. However, I found that a watch winder for mechanical watches — even at 2,100 turns per day — is inadequate to keep the electronic Ventura Sparc MGS charged. This pendulum watch winder does; it keeps the Ventura Sparc MGS charged when run for just a few hours every other night. (And that is only because the Ventura Sparc MGS will turn itself off and lose its settings if not moved for 40 hours. Otherwise I suspect that this winder is so efficient/effective that a greater interval than running it every other night might be sufficient to top off the Ventura Sparc MGS.)

I could not recommend this enough. I have a Seiko Kinetic watch, this is the only “winder” I have found with the power to charge a Seiko kinetic fully. Since it swings it needs more space but it is silent.
