Is this salt compatible?** A: Hello I have a Harvey water softener and this brand of block salt seems compatible. I have no problem.Try buying 1 double block(2 blocks in 1 pack.) I am happy with my buy ordering some more. **Q: Can this salt be used in food preservation please** A: The salt is 99.4% purity and conforms to BS EN 973 which covers “Chemicals used for treatment of water intended for human consumption — Sodium chloride for regeneration of ion exchangers”. **Q: I have a harveys water softener so wanted to know if the BWT will work with my kit?** A: Hi there. Well it’s salt and the blocks are the same size as a Harvey’s block. I’ve started putting them in a Water softener that was using. Harvey’s with no issue. I’m sure you be ok **Q: Hi. The blocks fuse together in the packaging and are very hard to separate. Is there any easy way to do this?** A: Always a nuisance when this happens. I sometimes open up the plastic wrapper and lay it flat on the floor. Lift the pair of blocks a few inches above the floor and drop them down. Invariably this breaks the seal. Alternatively I have laid the blocks flat on the wrapper and then using a wooden mallet tapped the sharp end of a clean chisel between the blocks. One of these methods has always worked for me. I have found all makes of block salt have this problem. They used to have cardboard around and between but I seem to remember they still stuck. ## Frequently Bought Together - BWT SALTBLO Water Softener Block Salt, White, 8 kg, Set of 2 Pieces - BWT WS555 Hi Flow Electronic Demand Block/Tablet Water Softener, Blue, 14 Litre - pack of 3 Water Softener Salt Blocks 100% Genuine Food Grade water softener salt block Compatible to All Water Softener Machine, Best For Laundry Kitchen Dishwasher Industrial use Salt Block 3 pack --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/60128218-bwt-water-softener-block-salt-8-kg-set-of-2](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/60128218-bwt-water-softener-block-salt-8-kg-set-of-2) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-10-17*
