Dive case isn't exactly cheap - And since it is made almost entirely out of glass it definitely is vulnerable to scratches. For you to capture clear 360 videos, you'd want to make sure your dive case is also free of any major blemishes that might occur when you're carrying your camera in this case between dives.This lens guard performs its function very well. It covers the entirety of glass area that matters = where your camera will be filming through - ensuring that this area will remain scratch free. In addition, there is a bit of spacing inside the lens guard to give some room between the glass and silicone - effectively creating an air pocket that should provide some degree of drop protection as well.One negative here is that compared to the official Insta360 lens cap for the X3 camera itself (not the dive case), the silicone is much thinner and feels cheap - and the official X3 lens cap is only 7 dollars.
