Durable blowmolded resin construction

Review: I just LOVE this shed - This is the third Suncast shed I have built. I have the 20 cubit foot, and the 52 cubic foot. The contents have ALWAYS stayed dry, no leaks at all, and I am in an area where we get torrential rains in the summer. This 98 cubic foot shed is almost identical to the others except bigger, much bigger. It is helpful to have a second person handy to help hold the walls while you insert the plastic screws. It is built to accommodate 4 wood shelves that you would have to make yourself. Too bad they do not sell prefab plastic shelves as an option. What I did was buy TWO sets of five tiered plastic shelving at Lowes that measured 42 inches wide, 16 inches deep and 72 inches wide. Home Depot only has 36 inch wide shelves. Even with the 44 inch wide shelves, I still had almost 10 inches inches on one side to put a 4-step step ladder and some tools. Even with the shelves being 72 inches high, I still had room to put 4 folding plastic chairs on the top shelf. I used shims under the front legs of the shelves to tip them a little backward for added stability. Even with all that shelving, I still have another 8 inches of pure space between the front of the shelves and the shed doors for large stand up times. Put the shed on a base of 12 inch x 12 inch concrete pavers (Home Depot or Lowes), not directly on the ground. Also, for high wind or hurricane prone areas, buy a shed tie down kit (Lowes-4 to a kit), or Home Depot, sold individually. They are steel rods 30 inches long with 3 curved blades on the bottom to anchor into the ground. You will need 2 per side and a heavy steel rod to give you the leverage to screw the anchor into the ground, which takes a LOT of effort. I use 1/2 inch nylon robe for the tie down I bought a 300 foot spool on desertcart for MUCH less than 100 foot at Home Depot. 3/8 inch may not be strong enough for hurricane strength winds. I only attach the rope when there is a hurricane on the way because when the rope is on, you cannot open the shed doors. One other FYI. One plastic screw would not screw into its female counterpart on one side panel. Fortunately, it was the middle screw , but the bottom and top screw did hold. Similarly, one of two screw on one side of the top metal rod would not hold into its female receptacle but 3 screws did hold. I called Suncast and they were perfectly willing to send replacement panels but I felt it was, in my particular case, it was not crucial so I did not order the replacements since I did not want to have to partially disassemble the shed for a non critical issue. I could have used gorilla glue, etc, to get the two screw to hold but did not even bother. Other reviews have occasionally had the same problem with a plastic screw and used a 5/8 x 1 1/2 inch screw and washer to fix the problem. I tried it and it worked perfectly. Need to use about 6 washers for a tight fit. I am 100% happy with this shed. It holds a ton of stuff, especially with the plastic shelving I described above. BUY THIS SHED .
Review: Love the extra space! - Perfect fit for my little yard. I fit a rubbermaid shelf in there (that then holds folding chairs, my dog's large plastic kennel, a wine shelf, coolers). I have my ladder in there, 4 large green plastic rubbermaid bins, a large rolling cart with my garden tools in it. To lock it I bought a chain which I wrap around the handles and a lock. I put it together all by myself (though I can see how two people would benefit in some of the places of instructions). I knocked off 1 star because: 1) There are two spots where the big plastic screws don't actually catch on the side walls, even with someone pushing on the other side - I did bring in one person months later to try this. Even with the two spots with no screws in - it still holds up. 2) Also, the roof screws - I actually had to get a drill and drill a hole myself because there was a small defect with the screw holes for 2 of the roof screw holes (i'm sure that's the technical term) 3) There are small little openings at the door hinges where small little insects can get it. Spiders have made webs in there, but I just get it with a broom every so often.

### ⭐ Expensive to buy but cheaply made junk!
*by T***. on May 15, 2014*

First be aware it is all plastic with the exception of a metal roof bar and a couple of small screws used to hold floor panels together and roof bar in place. That said the rest is all plastic/resin. The big screws that hold the wall panels together......plastic. Plastic screwed into plastic. The little metal screws that are used screw into.....plastic so there is no tightening or even just snugging down they just spin and spin. The hinge pin holes for the doors? Plastic holes which you pop the plastic hinge pins into. Here is the problem, its plastic/resin so it flexes in the wind and shocker, the hinges come out of their sockets, granted not enough for the door to fall off yet but enough where I have a 1 to 2 inch gap between the closed door and the wall it snaps in to. I have a rake, 2 shovel handles, and a push broom leaning against the one of the walls inside and the wall bows out enough to you guessed it, pop the door hinge loose. Oh and here is some more quality for you, see the little handles on the outside? They have a nifty hole on the top and bottom to lock the shed if you so choose. Well guess what? The handles are held on by 2 sheet metal screws each which od course screw into..... plastic!! I kid you not my 8 year old daughter could walk up and pull the handle right out of the door with minimal effort. This shed could be great, put metal reinforcement plates behind where the parts actually screw together, put them where the handle screws to the door, and at the very least if not metal hinges at least hard plastic hinges and not this weak flimsy blow molded junk that snaps together. I wasted my money on this shed but its going in the garbage and I refuse to even look at another product made by Suncast I am so aggravated. I hope those reading this heed my warning and I hope this helps with your decision.
