It will not for instance last for the guarantee period if there is any standing water or 'poncing' on the roof. As it is water based the paint does give the impression that it is a standard type paint but when fully dry it a a good roof seal. **Q: Do i paint this straight onto wood or do i need to fit felt first?** A: If this is a new roof it must have felt fitted. If the felt is fitted correctly by a professional you will not need to use roof seal, as all the joints will be sealed. You will only need to use a roof seal when the roof starts to wear and show signs of ageing.
