The brass feels cheap, the fittings don’t align properly, and the threads are rough right out of the box. The gauge looks and performs like a knockoff — readings are inconsistent and far from accurate. It’s shocking how poorly this thing is put together. INSTALLATION EXPERIENCE What a nightmare. No matter how much Teflon tape or pipe dope you use, it will leak. I reinstalled it multiple times thinking I’d missed something, but the issue is in the construction itself. Each attempt wasted more fittings, sealant, and hours of frustration. PERFORMANCE When it wasn’t leaking, the gauge readings jumped around like a bad lie detector test. It never gave a stable or reliable pressure readout, and adjusting the flow made no real difference. This isn’t a regulator—it’s a decoration that drips. COST & WASTE Beyond the purchase price, I lost a small fortune in ProPress fittings trying to make this thing work. Great for reducing household pressure for those appliances that just need a trickle of pressure, like electric fire places that generate vapor to simulate the look of flames. The FP that I used this on requires less than .5 psi of pressure. And this PRV did just the right job.
