Regular Style Instabind is a great DIY project for anyone looking to bind carpet edging or repair damaged rugs. Easy to use and less costly then traditional binding Instabind will give you a clean look without visible stitching. Item is sold in 5 foot increments and will be shipped on one continuous roll. If you order 4 units(20 feet) you will receive one roll that is 20 feet long. Items you will need for installation: instruction sheet (comes with your order), not included be necessary are heavy duty scissors, hot melt glue gun and glue.

I had tried to hot glue it back at one point …didn’t work well. The rug was in its way to the dump🥺 I took a chance and ordered this and SO So happy I did. The binding came in a roll..you peel the backing off. I had More than enough to do this good sized round rug. The color is exactly as shown. The directions are spot on. Super easy to apply - even for me (the most UNhandy person in the world). This is a Quality product. My poor rug now looks brand new! It looks like a professional job as well! It fit snugly right up to the edge of the carpet (weird last photo) I love this product so much I wish I had more things to use it on! Recommend - HECK YEAH !!!

I wanted to use it in a kids bunk room but didn’t want to schlep it to an upholsterer to have it bound. This edging worked great and looks professional. It’s one of the few projects ever that was easier than expected. Lots of colors to choose from—ours matched perfectly—and it was exactly the length I ordered. The adhesive is such that you can move around/adjust it while putting it on but gets permanent over time. Can you tell I LOVE this product! Congratulations on whoever developed this! (Note: Definitely use a fine tipped glue gun. Makes finishing much easier.)

The tape can be easy repositioned at first but once the installation is complete and the rug is laid in place the tape will begin to adhere more/harder as time passes insuring a long lasting and secure bond.
- We sell Instabind in 5 foot sections up to the total amount you need to bind your carpet scraps or rug. To get the correct amount simply add up the total feet all around the item to be bound. A 3 x 6 rug would require you to order a quantity of 4. How? The rug measures 3 + 3 + 6 + 6 = 18 total feet you would need a total of 4 five foot sections. When you order 4 units (20 feet) this will come in one continuous roll.
- Instabind is user-friendly and perfect for the DIYer to do. Each shipment comes with basic written instructions and a QR code to watch the "how to" video before you start. The items not included but needed for installation are heavy duty scissors, hot melt glue gun (even a small craft glue gun will work) and hot melt glue.

A: I think it would work on hand woven rugs.  You have to use a hot glue gun.

I replaced old, shredded fringe with this product and the results are amazing. It was very easy to install and the hot glue will ensure a nice, long lasting edge on this high-traffic area. The color is spot on. Also, the sticky tape is very forgiving so if you have to make adjustments before using the glue gun, you can. This may be a no-brainer for anyone other than me, but I needed 17ft. so I ordered 4 of the 5ft. pieces. I thought I would have to seam it together, but I got 20ft. roll. They just sell in 5ft. increments.
