For Oils, place your favorite type of palette – wood, glass, plastic or paper – into the Palette Seal tray and snap on the lid. Your paints will stay fresh for many days-even weeks when they’re sealed in the airtight Masterson Palette Seal. For acrylics and other water-miscible paints, use Masterson’s patented Sta-Wet Premier Acrylic Paper and Sponge (sold separately). The sponge, when moistened and combined with Masterson’s Acrylic Palette Paper, maintains a moist “atmosphere” inside the Artist Palette Seal. Review: its an amazing palette I do recommend this product - UPDATE- I have left my Masterson Artist Palette unopened with paint in mid April and May 28th I finally got back to it and the paint is still moist like I just put it on the pallet and theres no mold or smell. This is an amazing product. Im new at this wet palette and acrylic paint but I do like the Masterson Artist Palette Seal and I also bought the sponge and palette paper. I found no problem with taking the lid off or putting it on. It says to mark an end so you always put it on and take it off the same way and it worked for me. It does keep the acrylic paint moist for days and I will post later if I leave it in for weeks. This is a good investment in saving money from wasting paint and you can pickup from where you left off on your project without having to start over with new paint.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: So can the whole pad of 16"x20" palette paper fit inside palette?**
A: Yes. It will fit.

**Q: Is 12x16 the inside or outside dimension?  I need the inside dimension.**
A: The Masterson Artist Palette Seal has inside dimensions of slightly larger than 12" x 16", so it is intended to hold 12" x 16" palette pads or sheets. You can use the same refill products (acrylic sheets and sponges) as what is recommended to use with the Masterson Premier Palette.

**Q: Amazon doesn't sell the sponges and paper for a reasonable price. Anyone tried paper towel/parchment paper?**
A: I use this pallette for my for acrylic paint but it could work for oil too. I first laid it down plastic vegetable cutting mat (which can be bought on Amazon for relatively little cost) shiny side up. Then I fold up paper towels line along the edges and wet them down which is where I put the paint. I then spray the paint with a spray bottle occasionally and about once or twice a week when not in use, and they usually last fresh for about three to four weeks, but if mildew starts to appear just rip out that particular color replace it. When the paint dries it peals off the plastic cutting boards easily. The only difference for oil is that I would probably keep it in the freezer to keep the Paint fresh and would not spray the paint. This is a modified technique that is taught by Jerry Yarnell who has written several books on acrylic painting.

**Q: Can oil paints be stored directly on plastic for storing?**
A: NO. Either cut a fitted piece of glass (heavy) or several pieces of plexiglass (light but scratches over time) or use the palette paper.  You don't want to take a razor to the plastic surface itself.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great air tight container for painting

The fit with the glass palette is perfect, and the lid is super airtight for keeping acrylic paints fresh, however note the size can be a bit bulky (this brand does have one size smaller) and the cover can be hard to get on/off (you need good hand strength). I’m sure the cover will get easier with repeated use. Is a bit expensive, but the quality of this plastic looks like it will last many, many years. Overall great product for any artist using acrylic paints.
