Product Description YUNNAN BLACK Yunnan black is one of the most famous tea varieties. It is made from fully oxidized leaves; When brewed, the tea gets its distinctive brassy red colour, smoky aroma and robust flavour with notes of nuts and chocolate; Enjoy on its own or with sugar or milk (or both). Delicious as a breakfast drink but can be equally enjoyable throughout a day; The leaves can be steeped multiple times, revealing different layers of flavour with each infusion (see below); Moderate caffeine content makes it suitable for a morning drink or for an afternoon pick-me-up. MULTIPLE INFUSIONS We test our teas for how many times you can re-use a single portion of the loose tea. Please be aware that you may get different results due to differences between tea harvests, water quality and hardness and so on. Parameters Using 1.5 teaspoon (2.50g) of tea; 300ml of water at 95°C. Brewing 1st infusion: steeped for 3 minutes, 2nd: 3.5 minutes, 3rd: 5.5 minutes. Results The second infusion produced a lighter but also smoother cup of tea with less astringency. The 3rd cup was still good, like mid-range black tea, with the smokiness hardly noticeable. After that we poured hot water over the leaves one more time and left it for about 30 minutes and as a result we got another cup of good tea! HIIP'S TIPS Always use freshly drawn water - only use as much as you need for one infusion. Definitely avoid re-using the water that have been in the kettle for more than a day. If you have temperature-controlled kettle, set your preferred brewing temperature and do not fully boil the water unless you are not sure if the water is of a good quality. If you intend to store the tea for longer, move the contents of the pouch to an airtight container; Did you know that you could use spent tea leaves as composting material? Either add it to your compost or use directly around the roots of your home or garden plants.

Review: Black Chinese - It is rare I give five stars, but this tea is lovely, slightly different in taste to the other Asian teas, I think I will try the white tips next time although I always find myself coming back to the black teas. Yunnan is one of the earliest types of tea. Still great now. I use it to blend with other teas. But it's nice on its own too. Great leaf size. Good value.
