I have to say that I loved the way the collar stay worked (unfortunately for only 6 months). I received the item in the end of April and used it almost daily with work attire. I’m disappointed to say that now in mid October it has broken. I was reluctant to buy it in the first place due to the relatively high price in my opinion for what it truly is, a piece of felt coated metal wire, but decided to give it a try anyway. The design is great, and it worked great, just didn’t get much life out of it😔. Had it lasted longer I would have easily rated 5 stars. In my opinion it should be made of a higher quality metal that can withstand little bending over time. Especially for the price. Im still questioning wether or not it’s worth replacing. 11/12/19 I am writing this as a follow up on my last review of the collar stay. I DID end up purchasing another collar stay after some mental deliberation (as it did work and kept my collar and I looking great!). I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised that the inventor/owner of the company saw my review and express shipped my new one which was received within a few days of ordering! Thank you for that! I can honestly say that I REALLY hope this one lasts longer. I enjoyed my first one and was disappointed when it broke mostly because I didn’t want to go even a day at work without it after knowing how good my collar looked with it on. It really does work, it is comfortable to wear, and really does keep your collar looking top notch. Thank you again very much to the company owner/inventor for taking the time to read my review and speed up the delivery time on my replacement. I am changing my 3 star review to 5 stars for the hope of longer life of the new one! Review: Surprisingly good. - I had my doubts on this product, but so far it seems to work very well. I've worn it for a couple days now. It keeps your collar very sharp and tall. I work in a very active office environment, constantly running around and I did not notice it once. The only thing I question is longevity. I don't think the metal will last very long with constant bending and adjusting, but only time will tell. It did not set it off. The detectors can be adjusted for sensitivity, so it could be different for you. I would think that in most cases, a metal detector would not go off unless it is set to the highest sensitivity. **Q: Does this work with a tie, and support my collar If I want to undo the top button?** A: I would not recommend this with a tie, but it's perfect to support your collar - even with two buttons undone. **Q: Any comments on how to stop it from sliding around so that it pokes out of the front on one side?** A: Hi Yes, if the product slides around, do the following: 1: Ensure that both lower legs are equally bend, 2: Place the Collar Shaper upside down on a table and ensure the U shape is completely touching the table, and 3: Ensure that you have a perfect U shape and not one tip ahead of the other. I love the way it remains undetectable. My only issue was that it woul move around in my collar and need adjusting to keep it balanced. My solution was to wrap a little double-back tape around the center of it so it would stay put.
