That was probably the hardest part of the whole process. I was able to find a service technician's manual online that outlined all the different tests and diagnostics step-by-step. It does require some DIY/technical know-how (for ex. how to use a multimeter), but I was able to clearly confirm that it was the heating element that had gone bad.I was pleasantly surprised that I could get a replacement delivered next-day Prime at a good price. Pulling out the old heating element was easier than pushing the new one in place -- took some wiggling back & forth, and a little brute strength to slide it in. Apart from that though, it was a pretty simple fix that saved me a few hundred dollars for a service technician visit.One tip -- it's a good opportunity to clean out the insides of your dryer, with the front panel removed. The company (Prysm) appears to have great customer service and was prompt in answering questions prior to ordering. With free returns and a one-year warranty on the part I didn't see how we could go wrong with this purchase. The part was for my 13-year-old KitchenAid (Whirlpool) electric dryer model KEHS02RMT0. If you happen to have the same dryer model, we were able to replace the part from the rear, and did not have to remove the front dryer panel.
