They are a hit with my kids. My children like to watch the sand fall, and also love using them as reading timers as they are silent, which can be less nerve-wracking than a timer that "clicks" or suddenly makes a loud noise. They are very popular for reading time (particularly the 20 minute one). In a few of the timers (white, yellow) it is difficult to see the sand accumulate. But really my only complaint is that I wish it included a 1-minute timer for teeth brushing, but that is not the product's fault.
