Throttle mechanism now works as new. On my engine it was necessary to remove the carburetor in order to access the mounting screws for the bracket. I would highly recommend also ordering the Autokay adjustable carburetor and replacing the non-adjustable one since you need to remove it anyway and it is very inexpensive, and allows you to adjust main and idle mixture to get this engine running the way the engineers intended. There are a couple of good videos on youtube showing you how to replace this spring.
